Privacy policy

This policy describes how Tambutso Riders uses information in its rider app and website. For privacy requests, contact info@desertlogic.ae.

Information you provide

We process your membership profile, contact details, emergency contact, medical information you enter, licence documents, garage information, posts, comments, photos and messages to operate membership and community features. We also process ride registrations, attendance and associated points.

Emergency information and sharing

All approved Tambutso members can view an active rider’s phone, emergency contact, blood type, medical conditions and allergies on their member profile for emergency assistance. These details are provided by the rider. Email and date of birth remain private in shared mobile profiles. Profile and community content marked public may appear on the website. Direct messages and their attachments are restricted to the conversation participants, except that a participant may submit message content to authorized moderators for a safety report.

Ride Mode location and voice

When you enable Ride Mode, precise location may be collected while the app is open, in the background and with the screen locked. It supports active-rider maps, stops, safety alerts and private Ride Stories. Ride Mode requires checked-in attendance; Going status alone is insufficient. Leaving Ride Mode stops ongoing sharing. Historical samples support completed Ride Stories. Voice features use microphone access when enabled.

Service providers and device permissions

Google Maps supports map features; Firebase supports push notifications; LiveKit supports voice sessions; Google Workspace delivers account emails. These services receive the data needed for their respective features. Camera and photo/file access support scanning and uploads. You can manage permissions in your phone settings; denying a permission may limit the related feature.

Account deletion and retention

A verified deletion request ends account access and active location sharing. Personal profile details are removed from normal use. Attendance, photos, messages and comments are retained in restricted storage for 30 days from the request, then purged. File removal is processed by a scheduled cleanup task. Anonymous placeholders may remain to preserve other riders’ replies and conversations. Other riders’ own content is not deleted merely because it mentions you; contact us about such content.

Server/database backups are retained for 30 days or less. They are restricted to recovery, and completed deletions must be reapplied before any restored service becomes available.

Community safety

Use the in-app Report menu for spam, harassment, threats, inappropriate content or privacy concerns. Authorized administrators review reports and may hide content or suspend membership. Report details are stored encrypted and removed when the reporting or reported account is deleted. Blocking prevents new private messages and social interactions through the app and hides the blocked member’s posts; emergency profiles remain available to all approved members.

Your choices

You can update your profile in the app, manage device permissions, stop Ride Mode, or request account deletion without the app. Contact info@desertlogic.ae for access, correction or privacy concerns.
